A massive $15,765 was raised for some of Franklin’s emergency service volunteer groups at the recent Steel Shots Exhibition, held at the New Zealand Steel Gallery at Franklin: The Centre. The exhibition was made op of photographs of steel by photographer Aliah Jan.

All of the images were sold on the opening night, a record for the gallery.

The money raised from the night is donated to Franklin’s St John services, the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust and Franklin’s five Rural Volunteer Fire Forces.

“It was the support of the community for these three very deserving organisations that made this happen. These organisations deserve every cent of the fund because they are so important to our community and they are people we can never thank enough,” says Aliah Jan.
