Crash woman ‘critical’ NZ Herald Jan 24 2012 A woman was in Waikato Hospital in a critical condition late last night after a road-sweeping truck collided with the driver’s side of her vehicle on State Highway 25, near Thames. The truck narrowly avoided a power pole and ended up in a field. The 25-year-old driver of the car was trapped in her vehicle for about 15 minutes. The accident happened at 5.10pm outside the Kopuarahi Community Centre on SH 25, about 5km west of the Kopu Bridge. The state highway between Hauraki Rd and Bush Rd was closed and diversions were put in place. The Westpac rescue helicopter from Auckland flew the woman to hospital. The two men in the truck were unhurt. |
