Man injured while hunting on first day of alert level 2 - Stuff

A man who injured himself while hunting on the first day of level 2 has been flown to Auckland Hospital.

The man in his 30s was injured while hunting in Mangataratara about 3.15pm on Thursday, an Auckland Rescue Helicopter statement said.

Thursday was the first day hunters could return to public conservation land after hunting was only permitted on private land in level 3, so long as hunters stayed within their region and stuck to their bubble.

Hunting had been deemed risky and was banned under the lockdown, and was initially banned under level 3 until Government reconsidered.
