Motorcyclist seriously injured after swerving to avoid oncoming car in Glorit - Stuff

A motorcyclist was seriously injured after swerving to avoid an oncoming car in Glorit, north of Auckland.

The man in his 50s was airlifted to Auckland City Hospital by a Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter on Tuesday afternoon after his motorcycle hit a culvert in the process.

A spokesman for the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust said the man had been thrown 10 metres into a ditch after hitting the culvert.

The Auckland Rescue Helicopter also flew a man in his 30s from Onetangi on Waiheke Island to Auckland City Hospital after a run-in with a nail.

He was left in a moderate condition after suffering the injury.
