IRB Takes to the Skies

On May 2nd we hosted Minister Casey Costello (Associate Health Minister) along with board members and management, representatives from Ambulance Team as well as key Auckland and Northland Sponsors at the Ardmore Base to officially unveil the first of our new AW169’s.

After months of preparations, fit out modifications and testing, our new AW169 has been added to the fleet. IRB was issued its Certificate of Airworthiness last month, which a momentous achievement.

The aircraft was released for service in mid-May and flew its first mission with Pilot Jason Haggitt, Air Crew Officer Stu Callow, Critical Care Paramedic Teneale Hatton and Dr Gareth Richards, flying an injured child from Waiheke Island to Starship Hospital.
