Last Thursday, we were honoured to welcome Māori & Pasifika medical students from Te Oranga ki Ākarana | The University of Auckland to our base.
It was a privilege to introduce the students to the work of our service and share the vital role our crews play in delivering critical care across the region.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make the visit such a success. The afternoon concluded with a beautiful poroporoaki, where one of the tauira delivered a heartfelt mihi in te reo Māori before kindly translating it into English so everyone could appreciate its meaning. It was a fitting way to end a memorable visit.
A special thank you also goes to our respected kaumātua, patient liaison officer Bruce Kerr for his guidance and support throughout the visit. His presence added great value to the kaupapa and was deeply appreciated by our manuhiri.
Ngā mihi nui to everyone involved. We look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with the next generation of healthcare professionals.
